Temperatures around 100 degrees were reported Thursday in some valley and desert locations, but today’s highs are expected to be a bit lower as things cool off for the weekend. 

Temperatures over the weekend are expected to cool off between 2 and 7 degrees.

Sunny skies were forecast in Orange County, along with highs of 72 in Laguna Beach; 74 in San Clemente; 78 in Newport Beach; 86 in Mission Viejo; 87 in Fullerton and Irvine; 88 in Anaheim; and 91 in Yorba Linda.
